1. No JKA-approved individual or organization may join, participate in activities of, or invite instructors from any
organization other than WKF. Any who violate this rule shall immediately lose their JKA membership status.

2. No JKA-approved individual or organization may acquire or hold licence or Dan grade from any organization
other then WKF unless permission is granted by JKA HQ. Any who violate this rule shall immediately have
any qualification licence or Dan grade they acquired from JKA rendered null and void.

3. Examination of 7th Dan and above shall be conducted only at JKA HQ or at an equivalent examination
presided over by JKA HQ.

4. Judge, instructor and examiner qualifications of any JKA-aproved individual or organization must be
registered with and approved by JKA HQ.

5. If any JKA-approved individual or organization choose to leave JKA for any organization other than WKF
they will immediately lose their JKA qualification licence and Dan grade along with all their priviliges.

6. If any former JKA-approved individual or organization who chose to leave JKA for any organization other
than WKF desire to return to JKA they must re-apply for individual or organizational membership and be
approved be JKA HQ. If approved their former JKA qualification licence and Dan grade together with their
various privileges will be recognized only after a period of observation.

The Japan Karate Association is the largest traditional Shotokan Karate organization in the world with membership in over 100 countries and recognized as the only official form of Karate by Japanese government.
Master Minoru Saeki started his Karate career in Japan over 40 years ago and is now the JKA reperesentative for Canada and one of the most respected karate instructors across Canada and the USA.
On Friday April 23th, Kitchener/Waterloo JKA-Sakura Karate had the honour of hosting seminars conducted by Master Imura, 7th Dan JKA (Japan Headquarters) , and assisted by Master Saeki, 7th Dan JKA (CJKF Chief Instructor). The 40 members of CJKF from all over Ontario attended this event! Master Imura displayed amazing agility, flexibility and technical prowess. It was another amazing display of karate spirit!


The Aug 19th to 22nd 2010, five of us from our dojo participated in the annual Koyo Camp in Ottawa with guest Instructor, Master Masahiko Tanaka, 8th Dan JKA. The classes were divided in two with the Instructor classes being taught by Master Tanaka and the Non-Instructor classes by Master Minoru Saeki, 7th Dan JKA the head of the Canada JKA Karate Federation.
