Kitchener/Waterloo JKA – Sakura Karate continues to teach traditional Japanese Shotokan Karate (founded by Master Gichin Funakoshi).
Our school is affiliated with Japan Karate Association HQ in Japan.
We offer classes for children from age 3 - 7, 8 - 12 years old, juniors, teens, seniors. Our aim is to provide our students with a combination of high quality instruction and a friendly atmosphere that any member of the family can enjoy. Students learn focus, respect, tolerance and great level of fitness and self defense of traditional martial art - Shotokan Karate.
Sakura Karate Dojo serves Kitchener–Waterloo and surrounded area.

Organization of the JKA
The Japan Karate Association is the only independent karate entity legally and officially recognized by the Japanese government as an association of members (Shadan Hojin) for the promotion of karate.

For the most part, the JKA is centrally organized and coordinated through Tokyo JKA HQ, although there are both National and Regional headquarters in most areas around the world.
